  1. Confirm that the item you are buying is fire rated (if the item doesn't say it is fire rated, it isn't fire rated)
  2. Ask your supplier for a copy of the fire documents (including the fire certificate and/or test evidence)
  3. If your supplier is not certain about any details ALWAYS refer to the manufacturer

  1. Always make it CLEAR whether an item is fire rated or not
  2. Ask your supplier for a copy of the fire documents (and make them available on your website)
  3. Understand which intumescent is suitable for each piece of hardware


Tips for INSTALLERS of fire door hardware

  1. Always check that you have the correct fitting instructions (normaly from the manufacturer)
  2. Always fit the product to the EXACT instructions
  3. Check BEFORE you fit the item that all the required components are included
